Step into a world of cultural richness and diversity as N.A.P.A.H.’s Ethnic Village comes to life in downtown Salt Lake City during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Conceived by Leasure and Associates, this groundbreaking exhibition promises to captivate audiences from around the globe, offering a first-class showcase of the Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, African American, and Hispanic communities that call Salt Lake City home.
At N.A.P.A.H.’s Ethnic Village, our mission is clear: to celebrate the vibrant tapestry of cultures that enriches our community and to highlight the unique contributions each group makes to our collective identity. Through the arts, cuisine, customs, and language, visitors will gain a deeper appreciation for the rich heritage that thrives within our city.
Our pavilions serve as portals to different worlds, each meticulously themed to immerse visitors in the heart and soul of a specific culture. From the bustling streets of a Hispanic village to the serene landscapes of a Pacific Island, every corner offers a new discovery waiting to be uncovered. Sample authentic cuisine from each culture in our central dining area, or peruse the diverse offerings of our vendors lining the walkways between pavilions.
While our initial endeavor is to create a temporary facility for the 2002 Winter Olympics, our long-term vision is even grander. We aspire to establish a permanent cultural center that will serve as a beacon of diversity and inclusion for generations to come. By fostering dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect, we aim to build bridges that unite our community and celebrate the mosaic of cultures that define Salt Lake City.
Whether you're a local resident or a visitor from afar, N.A.P.A.H.’s Ethnic Village invites you to embark on a journey of exploration and enlightenment. Leave behind preconceptions and stereotypes, and embrace the rich tapestry of humanity that surrounds us.
Together, let's celebrate diversity, foster understanding, and build a brighter future for all.
